30s Athenian apt.

This ground-floor residence with a backyard was the typical construction of middle-class Athenian house of 30s. The aim here was to preserve the atmosphere and the basic elements of the architectural style of this period.

The height and the big windows were renovated with contemporary materials but kept their dimensions and style and the wooden flooring boards were sanded and polished to reveal their previous glory. All the furniture and accessories carefully selected to reflect the aura of Athenian interwar era imbued with a Greek chic modern touch. The two back rooms merged to form a contemporary cooking – dining – living room with access to the fully revised and highlighted backyard which paved with handmade geometric tiles matched with a black and white mural by Simek.
